Ganga Cleanup Drive at Visthapit Area Collab with Ghumakadi Foundation and locals, Collected approxx 600kg of Human-Generated Waste,

🌟 Project Objective
The mission was to tackle the issue of human-generated waste polluting the Ganga River and surrounding forests. This initiative focused on:
✅ Cleaning the environment to safeguard the ecosystem.
✅ Raising awareness about waste segregation and civic sense.
✅ Promoting eco-friendly practices like reducing plastic use.
✅ Encouraging community participation for a greener future.
📍 Scope of the Project
📍 Location: Visthapit area near Ganga River, Rishikesh
📈 Key Concerns:
🌳 Plastic waste affecting wildlife like deer, elephants, foxes, dogs,cows and migratory birds (e.g., Siberian ducks).
🚫 Environmental hazards: Soil, water, and air pollution caused by improper disposal and burning of plastic waste.
Support Provided by Nagar Nigam Rishikesh:Gloves and tools for safe waste handling.
Garbage van for collection and disposal of the waste.
































🌿 Community Collaboration:
Local residents and volunteers from the Ghumakadi Foundation joined hands with Taoveda NGO to clean the banks of the Ganga River. These photos highlight the incredible teamwork and dedication of everyone involved.
🧹 Cleanup in Action:
The team collected 600 kg of hazardous waste, including plastic, wrappers, and other garbage, ensuring they didn’t end up harming the river or nearby forests.
🎨 Wall Art by Kids & Artists:
Children and local artists turned blank walls into colorful murals with powerful messages about stopping littering and embracing civic responsibility. Their artwork serves as a reminder for everyone to protect the environment.
♻️ Promoting Sustainability:
Snapshots of cloth bag distribution to locals—an initiative that not only promotes sustainable habits but also empowers women who create these eco-friendly bags.
🦌 Protecting Wildlife:
Photos showcasing the impact of the cleanup on the forested area, reducing the risk of harm to wildlife like deer, elephants, and migratory birds.
📣 Awareness Campaign:
Highlights from interactive sessions where locals learned about waste segregation, the dangers of plastic pollution, and the importance of eco-friendly practices.
